During a recent live stream, BTSJ-Hope celebrated his birthday and updated fans by revealing he suffered from acute gastroenteritis, shocking his fans who hope he is feeling well now.

On February 18th, the K-Pop idol turned 32 and went live to interact with fans and follow their birthday tradition of talking about his current activities and the upcoming album, reading fans’ questions and messages, and blowing out his cake candles.

Amid their talk, J-Hope spoke to his fans about why he didn’t come out to greet them during Lunar New Year, revealing that he got gastroenteritis, had a fever and lost weight, but he said he is currently feeling well, and his attitude, full of energy and happiness, proves it.

“Uhm.. the reason why I couldn’t greet everyone during the Lunar New Year holiday was that I suddenly came down with acute gastroenteritis, so I was pretty much out of it throughout the whole Seollal holiday. I had a fever and everything, so it was really tough. So, I took some time to rest. Even now, my stomach doesn’t feel that great.”
