BTS could make it to FIFA’s most important event.
The 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar next November and BTS could be one of the guests to perform, in addition to debuting a new song as part of their campaign.
This would be the first time that BTS will be in a major sporting event, as they have only participated in diplomatic events. However, the band has managed to fill entire stadiums, so they have already faced such a massive audience.
Currently, they are part of Hyundai’s “Goal of the century” World Cup campaign, for which they are brand ambassadors. This could be their ticket to the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The rumors gained momentum after an ambassador spoke about the host country’s plans.

Through Asian media, it was reported that Korea’s ambassador to Qatar, Lee Joonho, revealed plans for the FIFA World Cup. The plan is to promote Korean culture during the event and attract tourism to the host country.
“There are expectations for BTS to perform and visit Doha” were the diplomat’s words.
The ambassador clarified that it could be during the run-up to the World Cup and they are reportedly already budgeted to visit and perform in the capital of Qatar, host of the soccer tournament.
BTS would be the first K-Pop act to perform at a World Cup as representatives of Asia.
