BLACKPINK’s Rosé has given fans their first preview of “new trick,” her upcoming solo single created as part of Apple’s latest “Shot on iPhone” campaign. Apple and Rosé joined forces on September 9, 2026, sharing that the song will be released on September 17 at 7 p.m. The track will be accompanied by a music video, which was directed by Dave Meyers and filmed entirely with Apple’s newly released iPhone 18 Pro.
Watch the teaser below:
In the freshly released preview, Rosé holds a purple and burgundy lollipop with the words “new trick” appearing on its wrapper. The teaser includes the lyrics “Lovesick, I’ll pick my heart off the floor” and “New trick, watch this, watch this, ow!” Then, a distorted electric guitar and layered vocals are heard in the sneak peek, giving the song a new sound from her previous solo work. Meanwhile, the “Shot on iPhone” campaign has previously had big A-list names such as The Weeknd, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lady Gaga.
“New trick” follows Rosé’s successful solo era, and it marks her first 2026 solo release. Her journey as a soloist outside YG Entertainment began with her debut studio album, “rosie,” in December 2024. The lead single from the project, the Bruno Mars-assisted pop-punk tune, “APT.,” later became a major global hit, reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on South Korea’s Circle Chart. “New trick” will arrive at midnight on September 18.
