BLACKPINK’s Lisa finally dropped her highly anticipated single “ROCKSTAR.” What’s more, the BLACKPINK member accompanied the single with an explosive music video and a killing choreography. The track, which was first teased through Lisa’s TikTok account, garnered massive attention and helped the rapper break a record for gaining 1 million followers in two hours on the social media platform.

The track comes after weeks of teasing from the idol, who recently established her own company, LLOUD, and joined forces with RCA to release this bop. It was written by Lisa herself, Brittany Amaradio, James Essien, Lucy Healey, Ryan Tedder, and Sam Homaee. It was produced by Tedder and Homaee. Moreover, it samples “New Person, Same Old Mistakes” by Tame Impala.
Then, there’s the bombastic music video! It was shot in Lisa’s home country, Thailand, and it even showcases the streets of Yaowarat Road. The “MONEY” hitmaker actually paid 20,000 Baht (that’s around 530 dollars) to the shop owners in the area so they could close earlier for her to shoot the music video.
