The official list of nominees for the 2026 Video Music Awards was finally released and revealed BLACKPINK’s Lisa as the most nominated K-Pop act at the ceremony, making history for her solo career.
On August 18th, the VMAs open voting for their next edition, revealing the list of nominees for all their categories, where once again K-Pop demonstrates their dominance by getting into important categories.
This time, Lisa draws attention by receiving 4 nominations for her song ‘DREAM ft. Kentaro Sakaguchi’ in the categories ‘Best Pop Song,’ ‘Best K-pop,’ ‘Best Cinematography,’ and ‘Best Editing’ posicioning in the Top 10 of most nominated artist of the ceremony.

‘DREAM’ was released in February 2025 as part of the idol’s first solo full-length album, ‘Ater Ego.’ It is also a collaboration with the model and actor Kentaro Sakaguchi, who contributes backing vocals and stars in the video alongside the singer, starring a melancholic love story.
Although the BLACKPINK member is nominated in four categories, only ‘Best Pop Song’ and ‘Best K-pop’ are open to public voting, which is open until September 25th. The 2026 Video Music Awards ceremony will be held on September 27th.
