BLACKPINK’s Jisoo prepares her first full solo album: “I’m working on showing a wider range of music”

The BLACKPINK singer says her new project will show a wider side of her music

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is preparing to release her first solo studio album, and she says the upcoming project will show more sides of her music. In an interview with V Magazine published on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the South Korean sensation revealed that she is working on a full album that presents a wider range of sounds. She added that she would be happy if listeners finished the album feeling that they had discovered a new side of her as an artist.

The project will come as an important step forward in Jisoo’s solo career. So far, she has released singles and the mini-album “AMORTAGE,” which came out in 2025. As of now, she is the only BLACKPINK member who has not yet released a full solo album. Meanwhile, Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé have all released their own full-length projects, titled “Alter Ego,” “Ruby,” and “Rosie,” respectively. Despite their solo careers, BLACKPINK got together for the EP “DEADLINE” in February 2026 after concluding the “DEADLINE World Tour” in January 2026.

“Since I’m preparing a full-length album this time, I’m working on showing a wider range of music. I think I’d be really happy if people listen to this album and say they discovered a new side of me,” Jisoo revealed about her upcoming music.

Elsewhere in the interview, Jisoo also spoke about the pressure that comes with public attention. She said that receiving high expectations can sometimes feel heavy, but she tries not to focus on worry. Instead, she reminds herself that being honest about who she is should be enough. The actor and singer said her way of protecting herself is to live each day fully and focus on the work in front of her.

“That’s my way of protecting myself. Instead of spending time worrying, I try to focus on living each day fully.”
