In the early hours of March 10th, Variety reports that BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo is set to receive an important award at the Cannes International Series Festival, recognizing her impact on the industry throughout her short but successful career as an actress.
The media outlet reports that the K-Pop idol is confirmed to attend the Canneseries pink carpet on April 23rd, where she will receive the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award, a prize that honors a personality who has become a major figure in the industry.
With this award, Jisoo will make history in the Korean entertainment industry as the first Korean actress & K-pop act to receive an individual award at this important festival in Cannes. Also, the Canneseries artistic director Albin Lewi praised the idol, saying:
