BLACKPINK connects KPop and heritage through a museum project

BLACKPINK will collaborate with the National Museum of Korea for a special project linked to the release of their third mini-album, “Deadline.” The group’s agency, YG Entertainment, confirmed that the project will run from February 26, 2026, to March 8, 2026. This initiative is named “NMK X BLACKPINK” and also includes Spotify as an official partner. This marks the first large-scale official collaboration between a KPop group and the country’s main national museum. This experience will bring music in a cultural setting to attract both fans and museum visitors.

BLACKPINK will hold a special collaboration with the National Museum of Korea for an exclusive pre-listening session with Spotify Premium users in celebration of the release of their highly anticipated mini-album, “DEADLINE,” on the 27th.

The museum hosts special lighting and audio programs for visitors

During the event period, the exterior of the museum will be lit in pink as part of the project theme. In addition, the members of BLACKPINK will act as audio guides for eight selected artifacts inside the museum. Visitors will get to hear the quartet explain the historical meaning of each item in the museum. Then, a listening session for the full album Deadline will take place at the Gwanggaeto Stele replica, which is located along the main corridor known as the Path of History. Some listening sessions will be limited to Spotify Premium users. Meanwhile, reservations for early listening sessions will open through Naver at 8 p.m. on February 19, 2026.

Mini-album release and public access

The official release of “Deadline” is scheduled for 2 p.m. on February 27, 2026. After that time, listening sessions will be available to all museum visitors during regular opening hours. The mini-album has five tracks, including the title song “GO” and the pre-release track “JUMP.” The other tracks are titled “Me and My,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy.” This project comes as a new approach to promoting KPop by combining live cultural spaces and music content. Organizers expect the collaboration to attract both BLACKPINK fans and people interested in Korean history and public cultural programs.
