On August 16, BLACKPINK made history as the first K-pop girl group to headline Wembley Stadium, marking a huge achievement for the group. But the big surprise? When they went full 90s by covering the Spice Girls’ hit “Wannabe.” Just like that, the stadium officially turned pink. Interestingly, BLACKPINK is actually the second girl group in generl to ever have a concert at Wembley Stadium, joining the Spice Girls in this feat.

Jennie once explained how the group admired the Spice Girls for having distinct personalities, calling them “an iconic girl group we grew up listening to.” That love came alive on stage as Rosé, Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa delivered their cover. The night before, fans also got a surprise when FKA Twigs popped up in a backstage cameo with Rosé prior to her “APT” solo performance.

Fresh off dropping their techno-inspired track “Jump” in July, BLACKPINK isn’t slowing down. YG’s Yang Hyun Suk confirmed a new album is due by November. Meanwhile, their tour rolls on through Asia from October to December. It looks like BLACKPINK is going all gas no brakes, like their recent song says!
