Billboard published an article about BTS Suga‘s new variety show, titled “SuChwiTa“. Following its post and spread on Twitter, fans are calling out Billboard for its continued mistreatment of the boy group.

BTS continually tops the Billboard charts continually setting new records. However, while the boy group and K-Pop in general have become more common on the charts, fans of the genre continually criticize the magazine for discriminating against idols.

BTS ARMY calls out Billboard again, not because of the content of the article about Suga’s new variety show, but because of the initial image the company used. Instead of using an image of the idol, it featured an image of GOT7‘s Youngjae.

Billboard removed the tweet and changed the image to one of Suga. But ARMY is frustrated by the wrong image, believing that given the number of times Billboard has covered BTS, he shouldn’t have used the wrong image.

Billboard never fails to prove to everyone how horrible they are. Racists in every shape and form. They know what they’re doing They’ve covered them for years. This is all on purpose. pic.twitter.com/oVLY6AJKAl

Fans are criticizing Billboard for “being racist and mistreating” South Korean artists, for the constant “disrespect“. And though the tweet has since been deleted, fans are still demanding answers from Billboard.

Previously, fans expressed their frustration with Billboard’s new event, The -K Billboard Awards, to highlight “the dazzling achievements of K-POP artists based on the Billboard charts“, fans were disgusted by the need to from Billboard to have a separate award program for Korean artists.

Additionally, a statement made by Bik Hwang, the executive director of the 2022 K-Culture Festival, which launched The-K Billboard Awards, suggested that they were looking to “find the next BTS“.

In 2021, ARMY boycotted a magazine where the interviewer directly asked BTS about chart manipulation, specifically their fan involvement.

Through honest means, ARMY has long exploited loopholes in music chart rules (including Billboard’s) to boost the performance of BTS’s singles“.
