Bill Gates used the perfect soundtrack for his charity message, taking a little help from BTS. The Microsoft co-founder posted about his partnership with Japan and South Korea for the organization Save the Children, and he chose BTS’ emotional anthem “Spring Day” as the background. The song is famous for its message of hope, which fits perfectly with his call to support children in developing nations.
Gates just wrapped up his first trip to South Korea in three years, where he met with Samsung’s Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group’s Chey Tae-won. He also had a meeting with President Lee Jae Myung to talk about social contribution projects led by the Gates Foundation.
Earlier in Tokyo, on August 20, he urged businesses and universities to boost research and development for vaccines and medical products to protect children in poorer countries. During his Asia visit in the third week of August, he also had a Japan-led global conference on African development.
Still, it was the moment he paired his post with “Spring Day” that had fans buzzing. The song is one of BTS’ most beloved tracks, which usually resonates with themes of resilience and strength. With this, Bill Gates took a K-pop anthem that carries more weight and says way more through the music than any speech ever could.
