Urban music has been making its way around the world for a few years now, starting with the huge success of Despacito, which made Spanish-language music travel all over the world, to such an extent that artists like Justin Bieber joined in with special versions of the song.

After that great success, relatively current, came the new representatives from Maluma to J Balvin.

Not to mention all the success of Bad Bunny, all urban music has come from places like Puerto Rico and Colombia, with Mexico being one of the first countries in consumption, but not in production.

Bellakath's hit song Gatita is accused of plagiarism and removed from platforms

Recently, thanks to platforms like Tiktok, a new song jumped to fame receiving more than 30 million plays in a short time. It is Gatita de Bellakath, a song from Mexico with a ¨Bellaco¨ rhythm.

The song quickly became a hit and launched the singer as a new Mexican representative of the urban genre sharing her catchy lyrics that make you want to dance.

On December 20 through her Instagram account, Bellakath shared in tears that the song had been reported for plagiarism, copyright issues, causing Tiktok, Instagram and Spotify to remove it from their catalog.

With tears in her eyes, the beautiful R9 singer mentioned that she considered it an injustice and could not understand why people act like that.

The hit song quickly went viral around the world, and there are even videos of fans singing along to the song.

“I am very sad, it was a work that I did since August and the song came out in October. I have how to prove that the song is mine. We are going to make a multimillion dollar lawsuit to claim it.

I don’t know how people can go to such lengths.”- Bellakath

We hope that soon the situation can be resolved and that the singer can recover her hit song Gatita.
