Bad Bunny concert in the United States sparks intrigue with arrest of mass shooter

Carlos Gaviria

Federal agents recently thwarted a mass shooting planned at a Bad Bunny concert in Atlanta. The suspect, identified as Mark Adams Prieto, is a 58-year-old man from Arizona. The alleged shooter was later arrested after an indictment revealed his intentions.

The suspect allegedly got semi-automatic rifles through cash and trades to avoid gun regulations. His plans were derailed when an accomplice he sought alerted the FBI, and subsequently, an undercover investigation was set with a secret agent the suspect attempted to recruit. According to American media outlets, Prieto wanted to carry out the shooting at a rap concert targeting African Americans.

“Prieto believes that martial law will be implemented shortly after the 2024 election and that a mass shooting should occur prior,” the source told the FBI.

Accused of plotting the mass shooting to ignite a race war ahead of the presidential election, he was also charged with Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Firearms Trafficking, and Transfer of a Firearm for Use in a Hate Crime. If Prieto is convicted of these charges, potential penalties could reach up to 40 years in prison.
