Ariana Grande just released her eighth studio album, Petal, on July 31, 2026, giving Arianators a direct and emotionally intense look at her music. The 12-track project arrived on streaming platforms at midnight ET and presents a version of the singer that appears to be more open, frustrated, upset, and confident. The lyrics mostly focus on personal feelings, difficult relationships, and moments of anger that she talks about openly. Describing the album, Ariana previously said that Petal was “something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.”
Before the project arrived, Ariana released only one single, “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” in June 2026. The song debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became her 10th career chart topper. The artist also shared a cappella previews of “Oh Well” and “Freak” on Instagram, and concert-goers got to hear the title track, “Petal,” during an Eternal Sunshine concert in Montreal ahead of the album’s release.
Petal follows Ariana Grande’s 2024 album Eternal Sunshine, which spawned two hit singles, “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love),” both of which reached number one on the Hot 100. In 2025, the Wicked protagonist expanded the album with a deluxe edition that included five new songs, including the fan favorite “Twilight Zone,” and a short film.
