A viral sound that broke the Internet

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo did not come to play! A resurfaced waveform from a January interview with music producer Greg Wells has gone viral again, thanks to the release of Wicked For Good. The image shows just how perfectly both stars have their vibratos matching, with Wells explaining that Ariana’s vocal track sat right on top of Cynthia’s in his screen, and the shapes of their vibratos were literally identical. There was no tweaking or editing needed, and he even sent the screenshot to the pair, revealing it was taken from their recording of For Good.

‘Wicked’ music producer Greg Wells shares that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were so in sync that their vibrato visually lined up during a live duet in London.

A level of sync you cannot fake

Wells admitted he had never seen anything like it, pointing out how their timing, dynamics, and vibrato lined up so flawlessly that even trying to replicate it would be impossible. According to the producer, the chemistry between Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo became one of his favorite elements of the entire movie.

A record-breaking duet with fans obsessed

Opening weekends at the global box office for the ‘Wicked’ films:

It is extra fitting that this moment comes from Wicked For Good, which tells a farewell duet between Elphaba and Glinda. The moment has become a major highlight of Wicked’s second installment, due to the emotionality of the track. Their vocals have gotten so much attention that both stars are genuine contenders for the UK Christmas Number One this year. Wicked For Good $226 million worldwide on its opening weekend and $147 million domestically. The film has soared as high as Ariana and Cynthia’s perfectly aligned vocals.
