Managed by DSP Media, APRIL debuted in South Korea on August 24, 2015 with their first mini album Dreaming. Their original lineup consisted of Chaewon, Naeun, Yena, Jinsol, Hyunjoo, and Somin. These last two left the group two weeks later and, in 2016, Rachel and Chaekyung were added.

Fineapple is the fandom that accompanied the performers of hits like “Oh! my mistake” and “LALALILALA”. DSP Media reported on January 28 the disbanding of APRIL. In their statement, it is indicated that there was a mutual separation agreement between idols and firm, but no reasons were specified.

However, the main cause is the alleged harassment denounced by ex-idol Hyunjoo, which was repeatedly denied by those involved. Likewise, fans postulate that the acquisition of the company by Rainbown, MAMAMOO‘s agency, would have led to the final decision.

Below is the full text of the South Korean label that houses K-pop groups KARD and MIRAE.

Hello, we are DSP Media.

We inform you that our artist APRIL has dissolved.

After a long period of discussion and debate, our agency and the members decided to disband the group and go their separate ways.

We ask that you give a lot of support and interest to the six members, who will be going down a new path that is not part of APRIL.

Also, we would like to once again thank the fans who have supported and cheered on APRIL over the past six years.
