In recent reports, a royal author reveals to the media the reason why Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson‘s friendship ended, sharing with the British people his point of view of their fractured bond.
On May 28th, the author Andrew Lownie starred in a new video released by the Daily Mail where he recapped the story of the relationship between the two women and how it fell apart after the former Duchess of York published her autobiography.
Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson were fourth cousins and childhood friends who later became the wives of Prince Charles and Prince Andrew, respectively. Despite their close bond, the author said that they felt out when the Duchess “referred to catching a verruca from borrowing some shoes from Lady Diana” in her autobiography.

Lownie continued revealing that the reality was that “Diana was very concerned that Sarah Ferguson might well be selling stories about her, and that relationship was never repaired, though Sarah Ferguson pretended it had,” assuring that this claim was the break point.
The author also talked about how the women used to meet every Saturday to express their frustration about the royal family, but during this time Diana had concerns that Fergie was too “boisterous” and that this personality “was kind of undermining Diana’s own reputation, and she began to distance herself.”
