However, not everyone was as pleasant as he was making jokes. The star didn’t hold back with comments, particularly his harsh jokes about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The comedian had plenty of time to joke around with Oppenheimer’s running time, Saltburn’s actor genitalia, and Taylor Swift’s NFL appearances on camera. Finally, he set his sights on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The joke had divided opinions as some attendees kept a straight serious face.
Jo Koy stated that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were still getting paid millions of dollars for doing nothing, just by Netflix. After he cracked the joke, the cameras zoomed in on Netflix’s CEO, Ted Sarandos. Despite the former royal couple not being present in the ceremony, the tension seemed to increase in the room.
The royal followers stated Jo Koy’s comments about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “brutal” because the couple has faced numerous obstacles during 2023. Those obstacles include the feud with the royal family after Prince Harry released his memoir, “Spare.” In addition, Harry had numerous hearings in the United Kingdom because of the invasion of his privacy during his teenage years.
