The DC film franchise hoped to end the losing streak that its latest productions have had on the big screen with the successful premiere of ‘Blue Beetle‘, on August 18th, however they did not expect the disappointing first weekend that the film would have.
For his part, although this production is not a great success at the box office, director Ángel Manuel Soto has expressed that he has many plans with the famous franchise, among them he shared that he wants to unite the protagonist of ‘Blue Beetle’, Jaime Reyes, with Ted Kord who played this character before, like in a multiverse.
This director’s idea could give clues to future installments of the beetle’s story, because at the time James Gunn took power from DC, he promised to bring Ted Kord back and explore possibilities for both of them to fight together against an enemy, leading to a sequel.
‘Blue Beetle 2‘ could be a reality, however there are many important factors, such as the possibilities of the director to make the production he wants, and the collections that this film currently has at the box office, so we only have to wait, and the time will give the answer of a second installment.
