The BLACKPINK star joins the Extraction universe

Netflix just dropped a major reveal with Tygo, a thriller that brings together BLACKPINK superstar Lisa, Don Lee, and Squid Game actor Lee Jin-uk. This film grows the Extraction franchise into Korean territory with a strong lineup of producers from Big Punch Pictures, AGBO, Nova Film, and B and C Group. The story comes from an original graphic novel by Anthony and Joe Russo with Ande Parks, which already hints at an action-packed project that will keep viewers glued to their screens.

A dark revenge story with pure energy

Tygo follows Don Lee as a former child soldier who becomes a mercenary and dives into Korea’s criminal underworld after an operation goes wrong. Directed by Lee Sang-yong and written by Cha Woo-jin, the movie combines action scenes with the feeling of revenge. Lisa shared that joining her first action movie was like a dream, while Don Lee revealed he has been developing this project for years with a global audience in mind.

“I’m so honored to be a part of this project and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible actors. Being in an action movie has always been a dream of mine, so for my film debut to be such an exciting project feels very special,” Lisa revealed.

Netflix’s blockbuster success just got bigger

The Extraction name already dominates Netflix, with 90 million households streaming the first movie in its first four weeks and the sequel staying at number one for seven weeks with over 123 million views. As of now, Tygo is stepping in as the next big name with its Korean style, star-packed cast and intriguing storyline. The premiere date remains under wraps, but one thing’s for sure: This new chapter arrives ready to shake things up.
