TXT’s Beomgyu has openly criticized KakaoTalk’s latest overhaul. The idol has focused on chatting with fans on WeVerse to talk about the latest updates by KakaoTalk and showed his frustration.
On September 28, the iconic singer questioned: “Why does KakaoTalk update however it wants?” He described the brand new design as “too much,” and “terrible,” adding he didn’t like all the sweeping changes.
In addition, the idol admitted that some of the updates can be meaningful, but he felt the new ones were unnecessary and harder to use. “I don’t care about other people’s profiles, but now they’re displayed like a gallery.”
KakaoTalk is South Korea’s dominant messaging platform, used for everything in the territory. Since Beomgyu’s complaints, several K-Netizens have also raised their voices to describe the redesign as confusing and intrusive, demanding a rollback or vowing to disable auto-updates.
