TWICE member Jihyo is preparing to release a new international collaboration with Jamaican singer Shenseea. According to posts published on July 1, 2026, the pair will unveil their new single, “Distant Lover,” on July 10, 2026. The track is expected to combine a smooth summer style with Jihyo’s powerful vocals and Shenseea’s signature Caribbean style. The collaboration marks another major global collaboration for the TWICE leader, who previously joined forces with R&B singer Jenevieve in “Hvnly.”
The collaboration took place through Musicow’s global Fandom project, an initiative created with Roc Nation to connect KPop artists with musicians from around the world. The project focuses on cross-border collaborations that introduce new musical styles and encourage artists to work together across different genres. This aligns with collaborations between Korean and international artists in recent years. For example, successful songs involving artists such as Rosé and Bruno Mars, Jennie and Dua Lipa, and Jungkook and Latto have proven themselves to be massive hit songs.
Since making her solo debut, Jihyo has continued building her individual identity as an artist while remaining an active member of TWICE. Her solo work has allowed her to explore different musical styles and showcase her vocal abilities outside the group’s sound. With “Distant Lover,” fans are expecting a new, exciting, and summery side from Jihyo and Shenseea.
