During her recent appearance in a variety show, TWICE‘s Jeongyeon revealed she was diagnosed with crushing syndrome, moving fans with her story and the support she received from her sister.

On May 18th, the new teaser of ‘You Quiz On The Block‘ was released, revealing more details of the episode that will premiere on Wednesday, May 20th KST with the idol’s sister, also known as actress Seung-yeon, as the special guest talking about her career and family.

In the new images, Jeongyeon speaks with love about her sister, sharing that she was the one who noticed that she wasn’t good, pushing her to get checked at a hospital, and supporting her during her hiatus due to health issues in 2020.

Additionally, the TWICE member revealed that due to these medical checks, she was diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome, a condition caused by excessive cortisol in one’s body, which causes symptoms like weight gain, skin changes, fatigue, high blood pressure, and even diabetes.

“That’s when I found out my exact diagnosis, ‘Crushing’s,’ was a word that I had never heard of before. Thanks to Unnie, I became healthy, and I was really grateful. Thank you so much for being my sister.”

This news has shocked all her fans, who hope her health is better now, while also expressing their sadness for the hard time she went through when she was criticized for her physical changes in the past, accusing the agency of not taking care of her by hiding this diagnosis.
