TWICE has been making huge waves in the United States since the release of the iconic animated film, “Kpop Demon Hunters.” The girls released special versions sung by them for the film, which contributed to their popularity in the territory.
On November 26, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) made a special announcement for TWICE. The 2024 hit, “Strategy”, earned an official platinum certification for over 1 million units sold in the United States.
The new certifications grant TWICE the title of the first Kpop girl group in RIAA history to earn a platinum certification for a non-collab single. Even including collaborations, “Strategy” becomes the second single by a Kpop group to earn the certification, following League of Legends’ virtual group, K/DA’s 2018 hit, “POP/STARS.”
