TUIDE officially debuted on August 24, 2026, with their first EP, TUNE & PLAY. The seven-member group is the first act from the ABD label (which stands for a Bold Dream). This is HYBE’s new label focused on girl groups. The members are Seohee, Seoyeon, Elena, Jia, Saki, Seah, and Yi Hani. The group’s name comes from the phrase “tune the tide,” reflecting their goal of creating their own direction in the music industry. The group describes its signature sound as “soultronic.”
TUNE & PLAY contains five tracks, including the title song “SUN KISS,” along with “ABD,” “Echo,” “Flip Flop Girl,” and “GRLS.” The songs move across genres including R&B, house, U.K. garage, and electronic sounds. In addition, “Echo” interpolates Janet Jackson’s 2001 song “All for You,” making it the perfect throwback with a modern twist for the project. Production duo GroovyRoom worked on the entire EP, helping establish the group’s musical identity from the start.
GroovyRoom, a producing duo, is popular for their extensive work in the South Korean hip-hop scene. The EP also has names such as Mirani to Since, going to K-pop contributors like Destiny Rogers and Maya Rose; the latter is known for working on songs such as SEVENTEEN’s “Maestro” and Hearts2Hearts’ “Rude!”
“To be honest, we are open to trying out so many different types of genres of music, and we love music on its own. We are set and ready to do more. For me personally, working with GroovyRoom was a great experience. So I feel like in the future, if we get another chance, I would love to work with them again one more time,” member Yi Hani said.
The group also focuses on showing each member’s personality through their performances. For example, “SUN KISS” centers on trusting your own voice and enjoying the moment, while the track’s choreography gives the members room to highlight their styles. With their first EP, supported by some of KPop’s and K-hip-hop’s biggest teams, TUIDE will surely find a spot on your playlist (and your shelves).
