This is the reason why removed BTS performance Grammy videos are raising questions

The disappearance of the group’s performances follows their decision not to submit music for the next Grammy Awards

BTS performance videos for “Butter” and “Dynamite” disappeared from the Grammy website on July 30, 2026, raising questions about the sudden removal. The change came shortly after BTS announced that they would not submit music from the ARIRANG album for the next Grammy Awards. Although the videos were no longer available on the Grammy site, the performances remained public on BTS’s official YouTube channel, BANGTAN TV. However, the situation gained online traction because the removed clips were connected to two of the group’s most recognized Grammy appearances.

The music account Pop Core reported the removal on social media on July 30, 2026. The account shared images that seemed to show an error message on the Grammy website, alongside a group photo of BTS. The Recording Academy had apparently taken down the performance pages, but no official explanation was included for this decision. Without a public statement from the Recording Academy, it remains unclear whether the performance videos were intentionally deleted, temporarily unavailable, or affected by a technical issue.

The timing increased questions because BTS had announced their Grammy decision one day earlier, on July 29, 2026. The decision came during debate over the creation of a new Asian pop category, which fans and online users have criticized because it segregates Asian artists to a particular category, leaving them out of competition for general awards like Album of the Year or Song of the Year. All seven members reacted to the newly made category by posting the same message on their individual Instagram Stories, confirming that they would not submit songs for consideration. Read their official statement below:

“We’ve decided not to submit our work for this year’s Grammy Awards. We hope music will be recognized and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language. Thank you, as always, to ARMY and everyone who supports us.”
