The latest season of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball recently featured a NewJeans reference and with their 2023 hit “OMG.” One of their animated characters, Tobias Wilson, can be seen breaking down the choreography to the song like a true viral king. This crossover moment was posted on July 30 and has already caught the attention of fans online.
The short clip shows the character busting out the moves, capturing the NewJeans’ signature playfulness and vibes. Initially posted to TikTok, the video has received 600k likes and 2.5 million views (and counting) across different posts, proving that NewJeans is still a force to be reckoned with. Despite not having any new releases since 2024 due to their legal feud with ADOR, it’s clear their music resonates with fans, even making the Gumball series join the party.
Currently, the quintet is still battling for their freedom in the courtroom. On July 24, the group and ADOR (under HYBE) held a hearing over their ongoing dispute. Mediation is set for August 14, where NewJeans made one thing clear: they’ll return to ADOR if they reinstate Min Hee Jin as the company’s CEO. If talks break down, the court will decide whether their contracts are still valid. Meanwhile, ADOR believes that’s not a reason for NewJeans to exit their company.
