The royal family recently reacted to a tragic attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event in a Southport, England school. This crime took place on Monday, July 29, leaving three dead children, 8 injured children, and two adults in critical condition. According to the Associated Press, Merseyside Police reported that a 17-year-old teenager from Banks, Lancashire was arrested under suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
In a touching message, the Prince and Princess of Wales reacted to the attack, sending strength to the families and friends of the victims and congratulating the emergency responders on their professionalism:
“As parents, we cannot begin to imagine what the families, friends, and loved ones of those killed and injured in Southport today are going through. Thank you also to the emergency responders who, despite being met with the most horrific scenes, demonstrated compassion and professionalism when your community needed you most.”
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift also reacted to the unfortunate event on her Instagram account. The singer uploaded an Instagram story expressing her shock over the horrendous crime:
“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock…The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”
