Kaohsiung, Taiwan, just had the glow-up of the year! The country welcomed BLACKPINK’s “DEADLINE” world tour on October 18 and 19, 2025, turning the southern port city into a glowing pink paradise.
To celebrate the K-pop quartet’s tour visit, Kaohsiung launched the “LIGHT UP Kaohsiung IN PINK” campaign, illuminating six major landmarks, such as the Love River, Great Harbor Bridge, Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal, and Formosa Boulevard Station in pink every night from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. through October 19. This shiny gesture honored BLACKPINK’s two sold-out shows at Kaohsiung National Stadium, where over 100,000 fans gathered to have a taste of their “Pink Venom.”
With their Taiwan shows, BLACKPINK became the highest-grossing international pop act in the stadium’s history with more than 190,000 tickets sold across 2023 and 2025. They’re the first to bring two consecutive world tours to the venue, the K-pop act with the most shows ever held there (four total), and the first to return for a second global run. But the cherry on top? The girl group’s visit also impacted Kaohsiung’s tourism industry, with hotel rates soaring by 90% and rooms fully booked across nearby cities like Tainan and Pingtung. Even Taiwan’s political leaders joined the fun, showing off pink hair and waving BLACKPINK’s lightsticks in honor of the group.
