During T.O.P.’s YouTube return, he reveals why he chose Nana as the star of his comeback music video while they introduce the idol’s first solo project in 13 years.
On April 28th, the former Big Bang member released a new YouTube video with the actress wearing matching outfits for an ASMR-style mukbang session while discussing the male idol’s new release and their collaborative video.
Amid their conversation, Nana asked why he chose her for starring in his comeback music video, “I’m curious, why me?” and with honesty, he talked about the first idea he had for the video of this song and the aura of the woman he was looking for.
“Honestly, ever since I first came up with the idea for ‘Studio54,’ I imagined an unknown, mysterious female character, someone whose era you can’t quite place.
I wanted a kind of charm where you couldn’t tell whether she was from space or the past. She needed to have classical beauty, but at the same time—just like the song title—if a woman who looked truly, completely crazy appeared, I thought it would be incredibly captivating. And in my opinion, she fits that image the best.”
After listening to this explanation, Nana thanks the T.O.P., and he politely responds, “No, thank you,” in a sweet interaction before continuing with their dynamic.
