Fans can finally mark their calendars! Legendary’s new Street Fighter remake is officially set to arrive in theaters on October 16, 2026. After mysteriously disappearing from the release schedule, the film is back on track with newly revealed details. Set in 1993, the story follows Ryu, played by Andrew Koji from Bullet Train, and Ken Masters, played by Noah Centineo from The Recruit. Once close allies, the two fighters are now estranged, but destiny reunites them.

The twist comes when Chun-Li, played by Callina Liang, steps into the picture through the World Warrior Tournament. In addition, a deeper conspiracy is waiting to be uncovered, setting the stage for an action-packed film. To tease fans, Legendary released posters styled like the video game’s iconic character selection screen, giving a special ’90s throwback vibe. Is this a sign the film will preserve this characteristic?!

The cast list is stacked with big names stepping into beloved roles. Jason Momoa transforms into Blanka, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i takes on Akuma, and David Dastmalchian plays M. Bison. Add Cody Rhodes as Guile, Orville Peck as Vega, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog. Originally set to be directed by the Philippou brothers, the project is now in the hands of Kitao Sakurai. With Paramount distributing, this promises to be the boldest Street Fighter yet.
