After making headlines with new reports, Stray Kids confirmed they join BTS in withholding music for 2027 Grammy Awards amid ‘Asian Pop’ category controversy.
On October 2nd, the Korean media Sports Kyunghyang reported that the boy group did not submit any of their work for the academy consideration before the August 21 deadline, which means they cannot be considered for nominations.
Later, a JYP Entertainment representative confirmed, “Stray Kids did not submit any work to the Grammys,” without sharing any specifict reason behind the boys decision even after all its members were invited to join the Recording Academy as voting members this year.
On social networks, many fans wonder if this is related to the creation of the new Asian Pop category, which generate much controversy and causing BTS members refuse to submit their new album ‘ARIRANG‘ assuring:
“We hope that music will be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being categorized by region or language.”
