Stranger Things is closing out its season finale with a full power move. The first four episodes dropped just two days ago, and Episode 4, “Chapter Four: Sorcerer,” is already breaking records. As of November 29, 2025, the episode sits at an impressive 9.8 out of 10 on IMDb with more than 20,000 votes. This makes it the highest-rated episode in the entire series, with fans binge-watching the first 4 offerings before the show finale ends its run.
What makes this milestone even juicier is how the rest of the series stacks up. Only one Season 3 episode ever reached the top 10, “The Battle of Starcourt,” which sits at #7. Meanwhile, the show’s lowest-rated chapter is still Season 2’s infamous “The Lost Sister.” Many fans felt the episode’s detour away from Hawkins totally disrupted the momentum, with more than 15% of viewers rating it a one. Some viewers even expressed that this arc felt less like a real Stranger Things episode and more like a backdoor pilot, testing potential spin-off characters.
But the mixed reviews from previous episodes are long gone with the critical and popular success of Season 4, and especially episode 4, which will be the last chapter fans will get to see until December. The next three episodes premiere on December 25, and the grand finale lands on Netflix on December 31. Stranger Things is one of Netflix’s biggest treasures since its premiere on July 15, 2026. The series became one of the streaming platform’s biggest phenomena, with season four alone being viewed more than 140 million times.
