Sophie, well known as the Duchess of Edinburgh, is taking international royal appointments as part of her duties with the British Crown. This time, the Duchess arrived in New York City to attend a special meeting at the United Nations focused on Women’s rights.
Sophie carried a message from King Charles III and diplomatic tension surrounding a possible royal visit to the United States. Despite there being no exact message publicly disclosed, Royal observers believe that Sophie informally conveyed goodwill from the King to American officials as speculation grows over a potential state visit next month.
The potential visit remains unconfirmed by Buckingham Palace itself. There’s still a lot of tension among the British People as a recent YouGov poll found that 46 percent of Britons believe the visit should be cancelled, while 36 percent support moving forward.
