SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu and BTS Jungkook have shared a deep connection from the very start of their career; they are even part of the so-called “97-liners” friendship group, which includes idols born in 1997. In addition, they have been supporting each other since Jungkook enlisted in the South Korean military.

On August 22, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu held a “WeLive” session, a livestream format hosted on Weverse where he was sharing quality time with his fans, better known as Carats. One of the viewers asked Mingyu if he met Jungkook during his visit to L.A., to which the idol replied:

“I did contact Kookie in LA, but my jetlag was so bad that after our shoots, I couldn’t leave after coming home because I had no energy so I worked and slept, worked and slept so I couldn’t meet up with him.

Unfortunately, the pair couldn’t meet, but they surely will share a special moment in the next couple of months. The two idols have been very close, as they had the iconic “Farewell Drinks” before enlistment, and frequent reunions during Jungkook’s military break. Hopefully, soon, fans will have another beautiful picture of the idols.
