SEVENTEEN is highlighted as one of the most philanthropic groups of the Kpop scene. The idols recently made a heartfelt donation to UNESCO, which caught the attention of the South Korean media outlets and the K-netizens as well.
On August 13, SEVENTEEN’s music agency, PLEDIS Entertainment, announced the group made a generous donation of $250,000 to UNESCO in honor of International Youth Day. The boys used proceeds from the “JOOPITER Presents: sacai x SEVENTEEN” charity auction. The idols even addressed their donation:
“Since our debut, we have grown by capturing the diverse moments of youth through music that reflects our sincere experiences and emotions, making the meaning of International Youth Day especially significant to us. We send our support to all young people around the world who are still pursuing their dreams.”
The heartfelt donation was not a surprise, as in 2023, SEVENTEEN became the first Kpop act invited to spark and perform at the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The boys’ generosity and philanthropy go beyond anything!
