In a new video honoring the memory of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William shares cherished memories of his late grandmother, four years after her passing.
The Prince of Wales recently shared a touching video message on a website dedicated to honoring the late monarch’s memoir, where citizens and prominent figures reflect on the Queen’s legacy.
Prince William talked about having the opportunity to know her better than many people as his grandmother. He recalled his frequent visits to Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip at Windsor Castle to have tea and eat cake.
“I remember many a quiet afternoon, having tea with her and my grandfather at the castle, chatting, sharing stories, and seeing how completely at ease she was here, surrounded by family and her much-loved dogs and horses.”

The heir to the British throne emphasized everything that the queen taught him in life and what her life and personality were like outside of royal duties, “showing a side of Granny the world didn’t often see—off-duty, relaxed, and utterly at home.”
William concluded the message, assuring, “These moments with my grandmother are ones I’ll always hold dear,” which clearly demonstrates the deep affection and respect he feels for the late queen, who protected the British people until the age of 96.
