Royal tea alert! On September 24th, 2025, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s spokesperson shut down the gossip that little Prince Archie had been signed up for Eton College in the UK, Harry’s own old school near Windsor. The couple’s rep made it crystal clear: “The Duke has not put his son’s name down for Eton and has no plans to send his son there.”
The chatter started after The Daily Beast and Daily Mail published reports claiming that Prince Harry had registered his 6-year-old son and even talked about it with friends. But the Sussexes, who now live in California with Archie and Lilibet, weren’t having it. The couple has made a life for themselves and their family in Montecito, stepping back from the royal spotlight. However, the Duke of Sussex did tell The Guardian that he’d like to bring his kids to the UK someday. He unveiled that his reunion with King Charles this year has brought the idea closer.
However, Eton does not appear to be in Archie’s future (at least for now), but it’s still on the radar for Archie’s cousins. For example, Prince George is expected to head there when he ages out of Lambrook next year. With Eton’s centuries-old history, elite status, and prime spot near Windsor Castle, it remains the royal family’s school of choice. But for Archie, California sunshine beats British boarding school history.
