The royal family holds a private reunion
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have reunited with their grandfather, King Charles, for the first time in four years. Buckingham Palace confirmed that the private family reunion took place on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, England. King Charles and Queen Camilla welcomed Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie, and Lilibet for the meeting. Buckingham Palace officials said no photographs or additional details would be released because the gathering was a private family moment. According to PEOPLE, Meghan Markle and the children traveled from their European vacation to attend the reunion.
The visit marks a significant family moment
The meeting was the first time Archie, who is 7 years old, and Lilibet, who is 5 years old, had seen their grandfather in person since 2022. The two children have been raised in California with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle since the couple decided to leave the British monarchy and relocated to the United States in 2020. The Sussexes’ last visit to the United Kingdom took place during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022. Although the children attended the trip, they stayed out of public events and remained away from the public spotlight.
Harry continues his charity work in Britain
The reunion happened while Prince Harry was visiting the United Kingdom. The father of two returned on July 6, 2026, to take part in charity engagements, including events connected to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. According to PEOPLE, Prince William was not present in the reunion. The Prince of Wales was playing a charity polo match in Windsor, accompanied by his wife, Princess Kate Middleton. There are no plans for the brothers and the Princess of Wales to meet during Harry’s visit to the country.
