The Royal Family is currently in the eye of the hurricane after the Metropolitan Police launched an investigation into Prince Andrew’s accusations. They are looking over the Prince as he allegedly asked his royal bodyguard to obtain private information on Virginia Giuffre, his teenage sex abuse accuser.

On October 20, The Mail on Sunday reported that Andrew instructed a member of the taxpayer-funded SO14 Royalty Protection Group to “investigate” Ms Giuffre, providing her date of birth and U.S. social security number. Andrew reportedly informed Ed Perkins, the then Deputy Press Secretary to Queen Elizabeth II, before the now-infamous photo of the Duke with 17-year-old Giuffre was published

A representative for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that they are actively investigating the claims, as legal experts have described Prince Andrew’s alleged actions as “reprehensible.” The scandal has arisen following Andrew’s loss of all royal titles after new disclosures about his ties to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Virginia Giuffre’s family has urged King Charles III to strip him of his princely title and investigate how he obtained her personal data. Despite Giuffre’s death earlier this year, the family is seeking justice after she was allegedly trafficked to London to have sex with Andrew.
