NewJeans’ return shows Danielle and Haerin taking different paths

Haerin has resumed public appearances while Danielle begins building her own YouTube presence

NewJeans members have begun returning to public activities in different ways following the group’s long period of uncertainty after their legal battle with HYBE’s ADOR. Haerin recently made her first official public appearance in approximately a year and a half at Dior Beauty’s 2026 Rouge Dior on Stage pop-up at Lotte World Mall in Seoul on September 7, 2026. The appearance came after she returned to ADOR in November 2025 and followed her recent fashion magazine appearance for Marie Claire Korea on August 14.

Haerin’s appearance also came after the group’s current 4-member lineup appeared together in a special film titled “2026 Summer of NewJeans,” released on July 22 in celebration of the group’s fourth anniversary. The video featured Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein and marked their first appearance together in content in approximately two years. Meanwhile, former member Danielle has begun moving forward outside the group. On September 3, she released “Detour,” the first video on her personal YouTube channel as a content creator. In the clip, she showed Australian nature and talked about her family.

The members’ different activities reflect the complex situation surrounding NewJeans. At the time of writing, Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni returned to ADOR after a court injunction throughout 2025, and the agency’s legal victory became final when the members did not appeal. Minji has continued discussions with the company, and her status as a member remains unconfirmed. Meanwhile, ADOR terminated Danielle’s exclusive contract in December 2025, and she was removed from the group. Danielle is also involved in an ongoing damages lawsuit seeking more than 33 billion won. There are no official group comeback dates announced, but the members appear to be moving forward.
