NCT 127’s Johnny is giving fans a more personal look at his life and experiences in South Korea through his new podcast, JOURNEY with JOHNNY. During the debut episode, the Chicago-born artist discussed everything from his favorite color to cultural differences he experienced after moving to South Korea. The most remarkable and difficult for him to embrace is still the country’s traditional sauna culture.

Johnny explained that Korean saunas can involve people visiting and bathing together without clothes, something he found unfamiliar after growing up in the United States. He said that although he understands how the experience can help people socialize and build closer relationships, sharing a sauna with friends while naked has never been something he has enjoyed. However, he admitted that Korean spas where guests keep their clothes on are more comfortable for him.
The singer also offered advice for people visiting South Korea, including following recycling rules, avoiding behavior that makes others uncomfortable, and paying attention to levels of politeness in language. Meanwhile, Johnny’s debut episode of his podcast comes as NCT 127 has just begun a new musical era. The group released their seventh studio album, BLINGY, last month and is scheduled to begin its fifth tour, Neo City: The Redline, at Seoul’s KSPO Dome on September 18, 2026.
