On February 25th, after winning the legal battle against HYBE, Min Hee-jin held a press conference where she offered a deal to the Korean company for them to withdraw all legal actions against NewJeans and its members.
The former CEO of ADOR, who currently has her own agency named Ooak Records, proposed to HYBE that they waive the 25.6 billion won she won in court in exchange for the dismissal of all civil and criminal lawsuits she has filed against NewJeans members, subcontracting partners, and employees.
“As I have said many times, there are values more precious to me than money. The NewJeans members must be having a very difficult time right now, and I want to tell them that there are adults standing with them. I hope this decision to give up 25.5 billion won will contribute to the development of K-pop. I have a vision I held when launching NewJeans. It is very regrettable, but I hope ADOR will keep the promises about activities that it made in court.”
Min Hee-jin concludes by saying that this situation is “painful for both the members and the fans,” in particular because during this time the girls have been away from music and all public activities, which made her earn the support of all fans who reacted with comments like:
“Choosing the well-being of the members over 25.5 billion won is a massive statement. Values over money. 🙌,” “the only one this whole time who actually cares about the artist,” “so hybe can either accept the offer or deny and make their intentions of ruining these girls lives even more clear.. smart play mhj.”
