Mckenna Grace has been cast as Daphne Blake in Netflix’s upcoming live-action Scooby Doo series. According to reports, the upcoming series will explore how the members of Mystery Inc first met. Netflix officially ordered eight episodes in March 2025, describing the project as a modern reimagining of the classic animated series. Meanwhile, Mckenna Grace’s casting marks a return to the character, as she previously voiced young Daphne in the animated film Scoob! released in 2020.

“During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne (Grace) get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder,” the logline says. “Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”

The actress was also set to reprise the role in Scoob! Holiday Haunt, but the project was canceled before its premiere. Over the years, she has portrayed younger versions of popular characters in several productions, including Captain Marvel and I, Tonya. In addition, she received an Emmy nomination for outstanding guest actress in a drama series for her role in The Handmaid’s Tale in 2021.
