Lil Nas X found himself in a new controversy due to the promotion of his next song, ‘J Christ‘, and he decided to respond to criticism for the alleged mockery of religion by posing on a cross with an explanation of his actions on his social networks.
On January 8th, the rapper posted on his official social networks the announcement of a next project with a photo of himself being crucificed, which generated great controversy on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter), receiving much criticism for the religious representation.
After the mixed reactions to his new promotional material, the singer posted, “the crazy thing is nowhere in the picture is a mockery of jesus. Jesus’s image is used throughout history in people’s art all over the world. I’m not making fun of sh*t“.
Between the critics, there were some loyal fans who praise his art and defend his acts; however, Lil Nas X decided to post an alleged acceptance letter to Liberty University, where he plans to attend to study Christian leadership and biblical studies, saying, “Not everything is a troll!“.
