Eagle-eyed fans spotted two police snipers lurking—one atop the Opera House sails, the other on a nearby building. Dressed in black with scarves and sunglasses, the snipers added a protective aura to the royal visit.
The high-security snipers were no surprise, though. Flashback to 1994: King Charles had a close call in Sydney when he was shot at with a starting pistol by student David Kang protesting asylum policies. Back then, Charles stayed calm despite his guard, Superintendent Colin Trimming, shielding him aggressively.
