On Tuesday, August 20th, it was confirmed that King Charles III met survivors of the Southport violent knife attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class held on July 29th.
According to Buckingham Palace, the monarch had a private meeting with the survivors of the attack, as well as spending time with the locals and members of the medical staff who responded quickly to the emergency call on the last days of July, whom the monarch thanked for their commitment and hard work.
The King wanted to express his gratitude to all those who were present to assist in the attack, so he visited the Southport Community Fire Station and the Merseyside Police Rescue and Ambulance Services, and they shared their experiences of the attack.
This attack occurred during a dance class with the theme of the pop singer and left multiple children injured and three dead—certainly a regrettable fact, even Taylor Swift said after the tragedy: “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock“.
