Following the removal of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s names from the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust’s official website, the charity for which they were appointed representatives by Queen Elizabeth II during their tenure as royals, King Charles III announced that the royal family will continue without them.
Many people have viewed the removal of their names as a slur to the royal family and evidence that the new monarch has severed all relations with them.
This choice is thought to have been taken in response to the scathing criticism Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have leveled recently against the British monarchy. The royal family has made steps to separate themselves from them even if they haven’t publicly defended them or released a statement to dispute them.
Harry and Meghan Markle have yet to get an invitation to Charles III’s coronation, thus this is unknown. Many believe it is doubtful that they will be invited given the royal family’s displeasure with Harry’s remarks in his interview with Oprah Winfrey and the documentary the couple created for Netflix.
