Global girl group KATSEYE just unlocked a major milestone: they’ve been invited to join the Recording Academy’s 2025 member class. That’s the same organization behind the Grammy Awards! The Academy dropped the news on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, revealing that nearly 3,600 new members were handpicked to join, including KATSEYE,  Addison Rae, and comedian Nikki Glaser.

But what does it mean to be a Recording Academy member? It’s not just red carpets and fancy award shows. Members get voting power for the Grammys, but that’s just the beginning. They also gain access to career-boosting experiences, skill-building resources, and a tight-knit community of artists and mentors. KATSEYE now joins a group helping shape the future of music while pushing for diversity, equity, and inclusion through initiatives like the Dream Initiative.

KATSEYE, who recently released their EP Beautiful Chaos, called the invitation “an honor” and said they’re excited to stand among artists who “champion music, artistry and diversity.” With the 2025 invite list being 49% women and 56% people of color, this year’s class reflects a changing music industry. Now KATSEYE has a seat at the table, and potentially a vote on who takes a Grammy home next year.
