One of the most compromising moments that the royal family lived, was the interview that Prince Harry and Kate Middleton had with one of the most emblematic figures of television, Oprah Whinfrey, and apparently, it was Prince Kate herself, who confronted the duke and duchess after their controversial statements. Kate Middleton was the one who confronted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after her interview with Oprah Whinfrey.
Since Prince Harry and his wife left the UK they have dedicated their resources to talk about the royal family and the problems they have gone through, even going as far as accusations of racism. There was so much unverified talk that the royal family was upset and Kate Middleton was the one who responded to deal with it.
Thanks to the new edition of the book ‘Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown’ by Valentine Low, it has been revealed that the Princess of Wales confronted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex about their statements made in their interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Valentine Low, claims that Kate wanted a more scathing and hardened response to the Sussexes, showing that the family did not approve of such accusations, much less accept them.
“It was Kate who clearly pointed out: ‘History will judge this statement and, unless this sentence or a sentence like this is included, everything they have said will be taken as truth,” the book claims.
In the statements, the writer explains why the future Queen of the United Kingdom felt the need to confront Harry and Meghan after their media statements:
“The debate was, do you rise completely above that and offer the olive branch of [Harry and Meghan being] ‘much-loved members of the family’? Or is there some point at which you have to step in and offer a view?” the author stated.
